When Black Barbie arrived on the scene in the 1980s, it was a transformative moment. Love her or hate her, almost everyone has a Barbie story. Through intimate auntie access to charismatic Mattel insider, Beulah Mae Mitchell, filmmaker Lagueria Davis explores the path that led to the creation of the first Black Barbie and the influence that she has had.
