Come to this community conversation around the unique needs of Black women and their mental health in our community. There is often no room in many Black women’s lives for vulnerability, and yet most cannot get access to the mental health supports they deserve. The inequalities and racism faced by Black Canadians can have a negative impact on their mental health, and Black women especially are often taught to ignore their own feelings for the sake of others.
Join Rhythm and Blues Cambridge and Porchlight Counselling and Addiction Services as we bring together a group of Black women therapists in Waterloo Region for an evening of conversation and connection, so that we all can better support mental health outcomes for Black women in our community.
We will be sharing space together in a community circle, taking time to listen and ask good questions, and the event will culminate in a community art project.
